Biopolymer Engineering Announces New Chief Financial Officer



EAGAN, MINN. – July 6, 2004 – Biopolymer Engineering, Inc. announced today that Julie Streed has been named Chief Financial Officer.

Ms. Streed joined Biopolymer Engineering in March of this year as Vice President of Finance. As CFO, she will be responsible for all of the company’s finance and banking requirements, including shareholder recordkeeping, audits, financial reporting, financial strategy, budgeting and payables and receivables.

“We are pleased to have someone of Julie’s caliber join our management team,” said Richard G. Mueller, President and Chief Executive Officer. “As the company grows, the need for increased financial controls and an experienced financial executive becomes even more critical.”

Prior to joining Biopolymer Engineering, Ms. Streed managed her own consulting business specializing in accounting and finance. Previously, she was Vice President and CFO for Carlson Marketing Group. Before that, she was Director of Finance for International Home Foods and Operations Accounting Manager for Pfizer Inc. Ms. Streed also has held positions with Grist Mill, Moore Data and General Mills.

Ms. Streed has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from University of Minnesota and a Master's degree from University of St. Thomas.
