Gargano Joins Biothera as VP Clinical Development

EAGAN, MN – December 22, 2005 – Michele A. Gargano, MSc has joined Biothera, the immune health company, as Vice President, Clinical Development, the company announced today.

Gargano will be responsible for design and management of Biothera’s clinical trials for all of its pharmaceutical compounds. The company is currently conducting a Phase I clinical trial with Imprime PGG™, an immunotherapy being developed initially for use with monoclonal antibodies to treat a wide range of cancers.

“Michele’s experience in all aspects of clinical development make her a great addition to our pharmaceutical team,” said Daniel Conners, Biothera founder and chairman.

Before joining Biothera, Gargano was director of global product development for Sucampo Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Bethesda, MD. As director of clinical development at Sucampo, Gargano led the development of five proprietary compounds in eight separate INDs (Investigational New Drug) applications in Phase I-III trials.

Gargano has an MSc from the London School of Economics and Social Science and a BA in from Sweet Briar College in Virginia.
