Biothera’s patented ingredients and products support overall health by enhancing innate defense mechanisms of the immune system that serve as the body's first line of protection. The innate immune system is a complex network of immune cells (monocytes/macrophages, neutrophils and natural killer cells) that circulate throughout the body and identify and destroy foreign intruders.

One such recognition molecule is a natural complex carbohydrate or gluco polysaccharride that is the basis for Biothera's technology platform.

Biothera's gluco polysaccharride acts as a biological response modifier. It binds with specific receptors (CR3) on neutrophils, the most abundant immune cell in the body, and activates or enhances anti-microbial activity, including:

migration of immune cells to the site of a foreign challenge (chemotaxis)

increased killing of foreign challenges (phagocytosis and oxidative burst)
